No one can resist the bumpin' beats of the Montgomery, Alabama Flea Market "Just Like a Mini Mall" jingle. The dance is infectious. The MC is a charmer. It has all the makings of a summer dance HIT. Now, typically Diamonds, Fur Coat, Champagne tends to deal with more established artists, like say, post-punk/no wave stuff from the late 70s/80s, or smaller underground acts that, you know, like, have tours booked and stuff. Sammy Stephens is none of these things. However, he does have a totally catchy commercial jam that has been stuck in my head for three days, ever since my friend Nate first showed it to me.
