At last, an outlet for my habit of assigning fake festival names to fairly small occurrences. (Example: "Drink-a-thon 5000", a really boring night in my friend's backyard where we sat around and called the phone number from the 867-5309 "Jenny, I got your nummmmber!" song from various area codes, or "Super Tubesday '08"--which technically wasn't really my name idea--for next Tuesday when I and anyone who wants to join me go TUBING down a RIVER.) The aforementioned "outlet" would be the occasion of a new mix cd compiled by two dance music heavyweights, Diplo and Santogold. Entitled Top Ranking, the 35 track ultimate party mixxx!!!! is available on Diplo's Mad Decent label, and is kinda similar in concept (ok, a lot similar) to the Piracy Funds Terrorism cd that dude did with M.I.A.
